As far as I know (been reading a bit on the topic) the Springy Sound changed into the Gold Star in about '84, same model, just a new name. Low price and, if people are speaking da truth, some of them are as great the best Fenders. So I've been on the lookout for a new strat and the old Tokais reallyy caught my eye.
